Stowmarket Businesses Named Muddy Awards 2026 Finalists

The Muddy Stilettos Suffolk & Cambs Awards 2026 winners have been announced, and while the regional winners took the headlines, we spotted something worth celebrating closer to home: Stowmarket had a brilliant showing among the finalists.

The awards shine a spotlight on independent businesses across Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, with readers voting for their favourites across food, drink, culture, wellbeing, shopping and more. According to Muddy Stilettos, the 2026 awards reached 14 million people nationally over 12 weeks and attracted nearly half a million votes.

For Stowmarket, it is another reminder of how much talent, creativity and graft is packed into our town. Small independents rarely have huge marketing teams behind them, so being named as a finalist in a regional award is a lovely bit of recognition, and very much worth a local cheer. Suffolk Food Museum: Family Experience

Suffolk Food Museum was named as a finalist in the Family Experience category. It is no surprise to see them there: the museum is one of Stowmarket’s best-known days out, bringing together local history, food, farming, animals, gardens and family-friendly events.

Whether you are visiting with children, meeting friends, learning about Suffolk’s rural heritage or just enjoying the site, it is a place that gives Stowmarket a real cultural anchor.

Rose & Berry Flowers: Florist

Rose & Berry Flowers was listed as a finalist in the Florist category. Local florists are often part of life’s biggest moments: birthdays, weddings, farewells, celebrations and thoughtful “just because” gifts. It is lovely to see a Stowmarket name recognised among the region’s standout flower businesses.

Violet & Flo: Florist

Also flying the Stowmarket flag in the Florist category was Violet & Flo. Having two Stowmarket finalists in one category is a pretty wonderful sign of the creative talent we have locally.

Independent florists bring so much colour and care to a town, and this double shortlisting is definitely one for the local bragging rights folder.

Infinite Potential Fitness: Sport / Fitness Instructor

Infinite Potential Fitness was named as a finalist in the Sport / Fitness Instructor category. Fitness businesses and instructors do far more than run sessions: they build confidence, motivation and community, often helping people take the first step back into movement or towards a healthier routine.

It is great to see a Stowmarket fitness name recognised in a category that celebrates the people helping others feel stronger, healthier and more supported.

We Are Grounded: Yoga / Pilates Studio

We Are Grounded was listed as a finalist in the Yoga / Pilates Studio category. With more people looking for ways to slow down, stretch, reset and look after their wellbeing, studios like this play an important role in local life.

Being recognised alongside studios from across Suffolk and Cambridgeshire is a lovely boost for Stowmarket’s wellbeing scene.

Why this matters

Awards are not everything, of course. The real magic is in the day-to-day: the early starts, the late finishes, the customer conversations, the repeat bookings, the community support and the sheer persistence it takes to keep an independent business moving.

But recognition helps. It puts local businesses in front of new audiences, reminds residents what is on their doorstep, and gives everyone another reason to choose local.
