Something new is coming to Stowmarket.life.

We are getting ready to launch a new local business directory, designed to make it easier for people to discover the shops, services and independent businesses serving Stowmarket and the surrounding area.

From cafés, restaurants and retailers to trades, family services, fitness providers, beauty businesses and professional services, Stowmarket has far more to offer than many people realise.

We have already identified hundreds of businesses across the area. Now we are bringing that information together in one useful, accessible place.

How Stowmarket.life has grown

Stowmarket.life started by helping local people find events happening around the town and nearby communities. We wanted to make it easier to see what was on, plan days out and support the organisations working hard to bring people together.

We then expanded beyond one-off events to include regular activities. That means residents can also discover recurring classes, clubs, groups, fitness sessions, family activities and other things they can join throughout the year.

Next came local stories, giving us a place to share the people, organisations, ideas and experiences that help make the area what it is.

The upcoming business directory is the next step.

Events help people enjoy the area. Regular activities help them become part of it. Stories help us celebrate the people and places behind the community. The directory will help residents find and support the businesses that keep it running.

By connecting events, regular activities, stories and local businesses, Stowmarket.life will give residents one local place to discover what is happening, what they can join, what they can learn about and who they can turn to when they need a product or service.

We want the directory to reflect the businesses local people genuinely use and recommend.

Businesses do not need a shopfront to be included. We want to represent independent shops, home-based businesses, mobile services, trades and nearby providers that regularly serve people in Stowmarket.
