About the workshop
Cartoonist Mike Armstrong will introduce participants to the basics of creating comics. The workshop covers:
- Comic-making tools and terminology
- Planning and laying out comic pages
- Lettering, pencils, inks and colouring
- Ideas for continuing and developing your comics
Mike is a Suffolk-based cartoonist and comic enthusiast, known for his minicomics and work with the London-based WIP Comics collective.
Who it is for
- Young people aged 10 to 16
- Basic drawing tools are provided
- Participants are welcome to bring their own drawing materials
Times, food and prices
- Date: Thursday 6 August 2026
- Time: 9:45am to 3:30pm
- HAF-eligible children: Free
- Non-HAF children: £20
- Lunch, drinks and snacks are included
